Audio Visual performance
Materials:
triptych projection panels, resonator circuit, vinyl records, turntables, digital files, location recordings, colour video, 2 channel stereo, dimensions variable.
An immersive sculpture of image and sound was presented with improvised audio performed ‘live’ within the site. During proceedings, the projected videoworks, on a timed loop, often overlapped with incidental location recordings and original real-time compositions to relay a perceived correlation in sound and image. As the performance progressed, alternative readings of the presentation could be made as the video loop continued forward but to a different sound.
The Atelier Hall of airbag craftworks was transformed by a projection field, divided into 3 identical planes, yet each plane set at a different depth to create an immersive architectural activation. Integrated within the audio performance was the use of a ‘resonator circuit’ activated by the performers breath.
Exploring the fluid expanses of meaning and playback through location based field recordings, electronics, vinyl records, found film footage and original location film footage. It was a blurring of fixed compositions and improvisation.
special thanks to airbag craftworks assembling the triptych panels.
